Desert Horsemanship
Shelly Berns grew up a lifelong horse lover. From her earliest kindergarten memories of dreaming about training horses, to making that dream her reality.
After earning her associate degree and passing both state and national veterinary technician exams, Shelly spent a decade in the veterinary field while raising her family and continuing to train horses. Her deep understanding of equine health and behavior became the foundation for what would eventually evolve into Desert Horsemanship.
Today, with over 15 years of professional experience, Shelly leads her training program with a focus on trust, confidence, and clear communication between horse and rider. She remains dedicated to continual learning, maintaining close relationships with veterinarians, and regularly attending clinics & private lessons to refine her approach.
Desert Horsemanship is built on that same spirit of growth and partnership where every client is guided toward lasting results through patience, feel, and timing.
